Our educational staff provides the backbone of our district and I couldn't be more honored to have received the recommendation of the Mount Horeb Education Association. I'm proud and humbled that many of our teachers have evaluated my credentials and decided to put their confidence in me.
As the daughter of one-time union members, I grew up witnessing first-hand how strong unions can protect workers' rights and strengthen our communities. I'm proud to have earned the endorsement of the South Central Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO.
With over 110 gun deaths per day in the United States, it is clear that gun violence is a problem that requires a comprehensive community response. None of us - families, schools, communities - are immune to gun violence in all its forms and we need leaders who will bring a common sense and evidence-based approach to this issue in all appropriate forums. The Gun Sense Candidate distinction is a candidate program that I worked on as a volunteer with Moms Demand Action and now I couldn't be more excited to have earned the distinction myself.
